A Day at the Farm

Last Saturday, April 24, 2010, Char, Mana and myself joined the staff
and volunteers of SIBAT (Char’s NGO) to visit Mangarita Farms,
which represents the 7 farmer cooperatives that supply produce to the
SIBOL store. It was a tiring yet fun-filled day and we were met with
much generosity, as we were shown around the farm and fed good,
home-cooked, Kapampangan food. My, my, this can become quite a
habit!

The guy in one of the pics is Teng, who is one of the key
personnel of SIBAT on the farm. He is in charge of Technical Design &
Training.

The Caucasian lady beside Char is Nynke. She is one of the international volunteers from a university in Netherlands who’s participating in SIBAT as part of their educational requirements. She’s a future nutritionist and thought of doing something like Good Food Co. We also have two more international volunteer ladies (not in the pictures), one with a tourism bent, and
the other management. All three seem to be enthusiastic for our project.

One day, sama din kayo sa SIBAT or sa Farm to meet them and the
wonderful farmers!
